P0121 Code: Causes, Symptoms, and Easy DIY Fixes | How to fix p0121 Code.

Your car’s engine control module (ECM) has detected a problem with the throttle position sensor (TPS) circuit. This is known as a P0121 code.

Symptoms of a P0121 code:
Check engine light
Rough idle
Stalling
Reduced engine power
Poor fuel economy

Causes of a P0121 code:
Faulty TPS
Dirty throttle body
Damaged TPS wiring
Corroded TPS connector pins

Easy DIY fixes for a P0121 code:
Clean the throttle body
Replace the TPS
Repair damaged TPS wiring
Clean corroded TPS connector pins

If you’re not comfortable fixing a P0121 code yourself, take your car to a qualified mechanic.

Additional tips:
Be sure to disconnect the negative battery terminal before working on the TPS.
Use a torque wrench to tighten the TPS bolts to the correct specifications.
Clear the ECM codes after you’ve done the repair.
