It would be a different process. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

BigJUJU14 says:

Would this same process work for a Geo prizm?

Misti Ward says:

Thank you!

1aauto says:

The process should be different on your application. We currently do not have an auto repair video for this particular repair. We’ll keep this request in mind in the event that we need to make this repair in the future. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

Misti Ward says:

I have a 2005 Jeep Liberty with a broken windshield switch stalk. Would the process in this video be similar to replace the switch stalk in my Jeep?

1aauto says:

Sometimes getting the clips aligned correctly can take some time as well as getting the bolts aligned correctly. This can happen with any vehicle.

The3Michael3 says:

Well, this looks like my Ford Focus, the only question’s I do have about this whole procedure is the putting the cover back onto the steering wheel, it looks like you had a bit of trouble doing that, why? Also, could I do this with SE Ford Focus 2001?

joelchummel says:

FABULOUS!!! It was spooky, because it looks exactly like my Accord, even down to the gray interior. I had a mechanic give a price estimate of $200 to do this job. I did it myself in 5 minutes!

bigdmyrs says:

Works perfect thank you so much!!!

If there’s any ice built up around the wiper base, you may want to remove it to see if that helps. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

1aauto says:

It sounds like there could be a short somewhere.

OC2iowa says:

My 2003 Kia Spectra windshield wipers just stopped working. We just had a very heavy snow fall and i thought I cleared all the snow off the windshield but when I turned on the wipers they did not work. It still makes a humming noise and the washer fluid works. I checked the fuse and it appears fine. I don’t think its the motor part because it still makes the humming noise. What else do you think it could be? Thanks.

Doug Davis says:

I have a problem with the windshield wipers randomly activating both when starting the car and while i’m driving. There’s no pattern, it will just go off at any given time. I took it to a local mechanic shop and they said the wiring is fine. Could it be that the arm just needs to be replaced?

1aauto says:

The switches are not interchangeable between those two vehicles but from the sounds of things you need a new switch.

supras7 says:

My 95 prelude wipers work but pulling towards me the sprayer doesn’t , do I just have to re tighten it? And can it be replaced with an acura integra switch if needed

1aauto says:

There might be a few bolts loose so tightening them up should solve your problem.

WithChildLikeFaith says:

I have a 94 Honda Civic but the set-up is virtually identical to this Accord. The switch itself works fine but it is loose and drops often, turning on the windshield wipers when I bump it or go across bumpy road. If I take it out like you did in this video, will tightening it be just as simple as turning a few screws or do I have to replace the entire switch?

1aauto says:

The switch might be going bad. You may want to check it.

tekilamemphiz says:

when i press the switch down the wipers work but when i turn the knob to turn on wipers automatically it doesn work/ so the wipers work manually but not automatically what could it be?

1aauto says:

You may want to check the fuses and test the power to the switch. If it does have power to it and it doesn’t work, you may need a new wiper switch. We carry new ones with FREE SHIPPING on our website 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

TheOldGun says:

My Honda Accord wiper is not working, what are the possible problems. Do I just need to replace the switch like the video? or Is there any other problem like fuse or relay?

1aauto says:

The stalk and switch are one assembly, you would need to replace them as a unit. We carry a new wiper switch for your Honda Accord on our website 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

mechanicalgranny says:

hello,

it is just the column that broke off right at the base. Is it possible to replace only the column?

1aauto says:

It may be similar. We currently do not have a supplier for this particular part. Have a great day 1aauto.com

LivinAndLovinAmerica says:

I have a 1997 Honda Civic. Are the instructions to change the wiper switch about the same as these? Thanks. Send me a link to purchase too.

1aauto says:

You may want to check the fuses first, and then check the wiring in the column. If the car was stolen there’s a good chance that on may have been cut.

punkrockmano says:

hello i have a question as well. i have a 99 civic dx civic and my wipers do not work at all i spoke to a autozone rep and he said he could be anything from the wiper switch,or the wiper relay or even the wiper motor. also the previous owner said the car was stolen and the steering had been tampered with and after they got the car back the wipers did not work any tips on what could be the problem with the wipers not working

1aauto says:

You can view the part on our website through the link below 1aauto.com/1A/turn-signal-lever/Honda/Accord

onfiyah says:

how much is the switch????

1aauto says:

It may be the switch or the module that’s acting up.

myangelsjns says:

Good vid. Thanks. But i have a question. I got a 98 civic and when i turn on my wipers in intermittent/low it stops in the middle of windshield and it continues. I have a parts car that everything works, wiper motor, switch and the module behind the fuse box but before i replace everything maybe i dont need to. Try to get it right the first part. What would cause this….. thanks.

DimSumJim says:

thanks for this video… my wiper switch just snapped back for some reason (now, broken and loose) and this definitely helps.

erion1ful says:

Good Job! But you should test the switch before re assembling everything in case it is defective. Other than that looks good.

Esther Nelson says:

I appreciate the help this video gave….thank you!

philharmonik77 says:

Thank you for this video! Used it to change the switch on my 2000 Honda Civic EX! Very easy to understand and I had it changed in minutes.

1aauto says:

It may be similar.
