How to Install D2S HID Headlight Bulbs (Acura TL)

HID Headlight Bulb Installation, The easy way! 2004-2008 Acura TL

All those videos that tell you to remove your bumper, turn a wheel and even to remove the plastic in the wheel well are WRONG.

I tried the removal of all listed items above. What i found was that I was getting annoyed and wasting so much time. Why? Because all these parts have to come off and go back on.

The simple way is to remove the battery and battery tray. Your hands will fit. Mine do and they’re not small either.

You won’t spend more than 40 minutes to remove the old bulb and install the new one(s). 35 minutes is what it took for me to do both. Hope this helps!

So there’s no screw on the passenger side or did you not show it?

@carpy1252 says:

How would you take the 'warning' black cover off? There's no way to unscrew it from the top.

@LukaL145 says:

Did not help whatsoever

I bought the bulbs for my sons 2004 Acura and was going to proactively change them out until I tried to get at them, this ain’t my Ford Ranger! I gave up until I ran across your vid. Now I can do it! Thanks.

every body makes videos on passenger side and no ones thought at.first to make it from driver side lol

@christopherd6399 says:

That battery tray is a BEAR to remove! Gotta unscrew a bolt blind underneath. Other than that, yes, it doesn't look to bad. You can reach the left bulb from underneath without removing the battery tray. Just have to remove the wheel well cover. Thanks for showing the right side!

Man, I can't thank you enough for this awesome video! After watching several that talk about removing the bumper, wheel well, dozens of bolts, clamps, etc… I said to myself…. "there must be a simpler method". Thanks to you and one other guy, I replaced my passenger side bulb in around thirty minutes. Thanks again.

I frikn love you man .

It will break off. Both of mine did. You may want to get a flat bar, place it on one of the wings of the dust cover and give it a good shot to break the plastic tab off.
Don’t turn the wheel and fender lining. Not worth the hassle.

@LightKiosk says:

What do I do about the locking screw for that voltage warning plastic cover to access the bulb? Does it really just break off like you mentioned, or is it better to turn the wheel and take it off that way?
