If you own a 1991-1995 Acura Legend or 1996-2004 Acura RL, you likely have a broken transmission mount and this video will help you find and repair it.
For me, the hardest part is getting the exhaust unbolted. Once that’s done, it’s really an easy parts replacement from there.

where did you buy your transmission if you don't mind me asking
ETCG, Great Video! Thank you. I am getting a clunk when I go into reverse, I guess time to do this shortly. I have a 2002 RLAwesome Car, I love it, please keep the RL Videos going, I need one on the timing belt for this model. Thanks again for having some of the best Video's on you tube.
Great video! Def Watch out for the exhaust bracket bolting mount back on – cross threaded. More vids on the RL please!
I advise you to revise the title. This is completely useless for me because my exhaust on my 00' looks nothing like this. Theres no bolts after the cat, its welded straight on.
I was being cheap..filled the old one with polyurethane it works great.
That dewalt impact seams weak
Hi there from Germany Eric! Gotta say I really like your videos a lot. Very simple methods, great explanation. But what I don't like is the fact that Americans tend to not care about torgue values that much, do they? 🙂
Hey Eric what's the purpose of the springs on the bolts never bothered to ask till now
Shouldn't there be loctite on those fasteners since they are dissimilar metals that expand and contract at different rates?
"If you throw it on the ground just right, it makes a really loud noise."
Any video where Eric throws something is my favorite because that's how I work too.
Hey Eric, don't you usually use silicone spray for rubber parts like those exhaust hangars? Just wondering if penetrating oil will eat away at the rubber.
"My used nut pile" I don't even want to know Eric.
what happened to the channel blown heads?????
17:00 :3
good video eric…transmission and motor mounts are often overlooked.
Eric you should do a video on a Oldsmobile Alero with the v6 on how to change headgaskets
what about gmc Sierra 1500 2004 it clunk sometimes like you said in the video
Eric, what brand are those swivel impact sockets you used on the exhaust bolts? They look very handy and would have saved me a few headaches over the years.
this is also the case with my 01 honda accord, on cold starts if the engine doesn't warm up and i shift from park to reverse, there is a clunk. when the car is warmed up and has been driving for some time, when i shift to reverse i dont hear a clunk at all. Hell, the motor mounts must be gone on this thing too because it rattles/vibrates at times. but i still love my accord 😀 even tho its a little beat up, rest in peace body panels and clear coat, now i got to clean my egr passageways, getting a p0401 (exhaust gas recirculation flow insufficient), a p0420 (catalyst system efficiecy below threshhold (bank 1)), and a p1491 (egr valve lift insufficient detected.) D: been getting worse mpg, time to deal with that egr
Replaced valve body on my 1997 RL to a 2003 and now it shifts so much smoother
good camera work, again, as usual!
You always make it look so easy!
The transmission mounts also were problematic for the Legends from 91-95 with manual transmissions.
I wonder….if manufacturers would've put some type of shield on the converter bolts kinda like on the o2 sensor wire, would they still have rusted and corroded the way they have? Luckily I live in AZ and mine look good as new. I just removed my stock cat from a 92 Accord and it came out with hand tools 🙂
Not only is Eric a mechanic who makes videos that I really learn a lot from and enjoy… But he does magic too!!!! You are watching the real deal here.
I'm awaiting the day that the engine building videos come out. I will live by those videos and watch them hourly.
