I have a 2011 nissan rogue awd. 3 wks ago the ABS, AWD, BRAKES and
TRACTION lights came on. Only way to get them off was to stop, turn the car
off and back on again. it only helped for less then a mile down the road
then the lights would come back on again. Finally just drove it like that
as i still had breaks. Didn’t care too but i had no choice. so i did some
investigating on internet, talked to some friends and it all pointed to the
ABS speed sensor. So i ordered a new one and got it friday. Well friday,
and saturday morning there was no lights, car ran good. I was a little
worried that maybe i didn’t need to change anything but then again, the
problem only would present itself again. So saturday morning (yesterday) we
changed the ABS speed sensor. Upon leaving the yard for a test drive the
car was not shifting , revving high and the awd, abs and traction light was
on still. I had somebody reset the sensor twice and then take the car for a
ride with the scanner hooked up. They came back saying that it was showing
no speed on the L rear tire but the rest were working fine. We came home,
upset and i started looking on line as to find something else that would
help. I came across a couple video’s on youtube on how to clean the tone
ring. while watching that my husband has been outside and took the tire off
again and was looking for a crack in the tone ring as it was mentioned that
may be it and we may have to buy either just that or the whole axel thing.
:(( when he took the sensor out he looked inside the area that it went in
and realized that the cavity to which it rested in wasn’t cleared of all
the debris from the old speed sensor. he cleaned everything out, put
everything back together again and i tested it once again, and still
nothing. Can anybody tell me if now that we found that there was still
plastic pieces in there that it would prevent it from being cleared when
scanned due to the sensor couldn’t get close enough to the tone ring? Or
now that we cleaned it out that if we had it scanned and reset that it
would work and my car would shift again and stop revving high? Or is this
just wishful thinking? We also disconnected the battery thinking this may
help but it doesn’t. Please help!!! I drive 45 minutes one way to work,
live in upstate new york where we got crap loads of snow and i don’t want
to be driving this like this but can’t afford to take to nissan garage.

right?
one question something wasnt clear on volt meter i just put negative wire
on one of the cables and positive on other cable of the sensor it dnt mater

The best thing I can say to you without me being present would be to google
“ABS sensor Diagnostics” physically seeing would be better than me trying
to describe what you need to do. My answer is the best I can give, I hope
it puts you in the right direction.
