2009 – 2014 Acura TL – Replacing the Hood Support Struts – Easy DIY!

Sorry my audio was recording through one channel only on this and a few of my other recent videos. I just fixed the problem for all my future videos, but I can’t change the audio on this upload.

Just a quick video showing how easy it is to replace the hood support struts on a 2010 Acura TL. The hood would fall down as soon as it was raised. The gas supports had gone bad and had no pressure in them at all. This only took a few minutes to replace and now the hood stays up as it should. The process is the same for many other Acura and Honda models as well.
I found these replacement struts on Amazon.com for around $20 for the pair. My local auto parts store wanted $38 each. I can only imagine how much the dealer would’ve wanted…
You will only need a small flat-head or blade screwdriver to replace them.
Thanks for watching!
