2003 Acura TL S Type Front Brake Job – Part 1

2003 Acura TL S Type Front Brake Job – Part 1

Removing the front brakes and rotors on my wife’s 2003 Acura TL-S type. The car had a shudder every time you applied the brakes. This fixed the problem.

Thanks for providing such clear directions – you helped me fix my wifes
best friends front brakes. She appreciates it too since she was too broke
to have it done and had dangerous brakes. Good work. – JT

Hi Sir, I have watched your video for the rear brake job and is great. i
will do my 2003 CL-S soon, however i’d like to know if you have ABS because
your video does not mention it. My CLS has ABS. Does anyone knows how to
disconnect it?? Thanks

It looks like the video panel to the right does not do a very good job for
keeping the videos together. It should show up in one of my 7 videos.

Darn send key! Anyway, thanks for the tip for the impact driver. It saved
me. They were seized bad. Great advise and great run through. Am now
checking out your other vids. Thanks!

Just watched your video last night and finished by TL Type S front barkers

truonghthe says:

looks like the rotor is warped, brake job is by far the easiest repair job
but so costly when you get the dealer repair for you.

dominoebf says:

Replace anything damaged or bent is always best. Without knowing the exact
TL you have, it’s hard to say. Try oemacuraparts com to find what you need.
Choose the drop down selections to input your exact car. When it shows the
listing of parts, choose “Front Lower Arm” and it should give you a front
end break out picture, and what each part will cost. This will give you an
idea of cost, and front end set up. Shop around or check out the junk yard
to see if you can find better prices. Good luck.

Where’s part 2?

dominoebf says:

Great to hear it helped out. Bang for the buck, this is about the best
little car I’ve owned.

dominoebf says:

I bought the pad and rotors at ebcrotors. com. The front pads are UD787,
front rotors are UPR7087. The rear pads are UD536, and rear rotors are
UPR7194. Found an online coupon for 10% off, and came to about $280.00
total. This is considered the base, or as good as OEM. My TL is a daily
driver that I put about a hundred miles a week on, so it’s not driven hard.
For my use, they are rock solid. EBC has higher performance if you need it.
