Here is how you replace the thermostat on a 4 Cylinder Honda engine, the procedure should be the same or very similar for all 4 cylinder made Honda Engines that you may find in any Civic or Accord. A stuck closed thermostat could cause overheating issues and a stuck open thermostat will cause delays in your car getting to operating temperature and as a result you might experience high MPG and no heat from your heater among other potential performance issues,
Thanks for the video, using it I changed my 20yr old Honda CRV thermostat and antifreeze. Now heating working like a charm.
I couldn't find the link to bleed the air. You mention that it would be in the description box of this video. The more I look for it; the more it ain't there!
Very good, yours is the only one I saw that deals with the anti freeze. But disposal should be covered as well. Local auto parts do not take radiator fluid. I had to go to a dealer ship where a shop manager helped me, but there could be a fee and public disposal of this fluid is not really in their mandate. Tred lightly when asking and be willing to pay them..
where is the air removal video
Such an abortion for what used to be a simple replacement back in the day. Hell, just replace the whole engine and be done with it.
Where the second video at thooo
What about a 2012 Honda Civic and do I have to drain the coolant?
I have a 98 Honda Accord. Given its age, what other things might you suggest I go ahead and change out other than the thermostat that usually would require draining of the antifreeze? intake/outlet hoses, water hoses, switches/ sensors (which ones)? anything else? Thanks a bunch!
No need to remove the coolant
Awesome, man! Thanks a lot.
