Should have used RTV 7 before you put that cover on. It would insure a good seal. Often there are grooves on the bottom aluminum plate that will not seal properly without RTV 7, thusly allowing eventual leakage.

Gaming and vlogs says:

Did you say resert hose or recert hose ?

iluvbogs says:

good quality video, no annoying music and no jerking motion of the camera. At 8:46 you stated the hardest part if keeping the gasket in the cover when putting it back. There is a solution for this, You can use 3M Super Weatherstrip and Gasket Adhesive before you put the gasket on the cover. Put a drop of the adhesive in the groove maybe every 8 inches apart and couple drops in the spark plug holes groves. THis well secure the gasket onto the cover and makes it easy to put the cover back on the engine.

Where do I start …… Why didn't he clean the valve cover with brake cleaner, and why did he not replace the spark plugs … He also failed to inspect the crankshaft very carefully to make sure nothing fell inside. ??

Orin Mangar says:

Sorry not 96 inch pounds. about 72 inch pounds=6 foot pounds. You do want each bolt or nut to be the same so that there is equal pressure around the valve cover and on the gasket. Remember that area gets very hot because heat rises.

Orin Mangar says:

I think the torque is 96 inch pounds=8 foot pounds.

How is your fix lasting? Also why not check the PCV valve while everything was open?

at 3:52 you mention a "recirc" hose. I am trying desperately to figure out exactly what this part is/does. Mine is severed and leaking oil and I need to find a new hose to replace it for my toyota camry 2003. Can anyone help?

Awesome video bro I loved it, ima order my parts online and once they arrive I’ll be sure to follow your video! One question though, how do you know if your vehicle is an in-line ? I got a 2006 Toyota Camry LE 4 cyclinder 2.4 engine and just want to make sure if mine is an in-line as well? Does it say it on the vehicle ?
