Floppy side view mirrors plague even the best of us. In this video I show you how to fix your broken, floppy, and loose side view mirrors on my Lexus SC400 / SC300 for free (well, for the price of two zip ties). Should also work for other 90’s and newer Lexus and Toyota models like the IS300, GS300, GS400, Supra, as well as many other car brands.
Thanks for watching!

This is a short fix-it style video, but hopefully it will help people out there with floppy mirror syndrome.
Cool! I have this problem on my LS430. I’ll have to figure out how to remove the door panel first so I can remove the mirror
Rusty shakelferg here so did this with my stepdad but the strips to hold the spring didn't do the trick so we just cut off a bit of the spring still worked and we didn't chop off the wires thanks for the vid
Excellent, credit to a DIY society. Cheers.
This was great, thanks for helping me save some money. I was legit going to buy another side view mirror untill I saw this. Saves me from having to repaint it too.
Thanks mate! I'll try this on my chevy 😀
driver side on my suzuki vitara is hanging by a thread… better get to work on it
Where's the rest of the video after this one? EP.48???
thank you, good vid.
1:55 – I do that with my shots all the time! So frustrating to come across when editing since you can't do anything about where the camera was aimed at that point.
4:14 – I am filled with unease.
Nicely done overall! I definitely feel confident tackling one of these jobs if one ever comes my way.
Nice fix. Subaru uses similar folding mirrors, but I have never seen one get floppy. Wonder how the mechanism differs.
My one confusion is why you wouldn't want to keep power mirrors, but if that part of the harness is already gone, obviously no need.
Didn't realize I hadn't seen this episode until now!
My passenger side went out a week ago i just stuck paper on the crack to hold it … gonna do this on my day off
Great DIY Jeff Can't wait to see the car on the track!
Simple fix! Glad to see another video.
Thank you soooooo much for this video man. I've been wondering for so long how to fix this on my 97' SC400
Wow I really was thinking buying a new one thanks
