Is the ’85 model still a front wheel drive ? What is the engine you got in
? Is it reliable ?
Yep, all X-Bodies are front wheel drive. This Skylark has the 2.5l Iron
Duke 4 cylinder. The engine never missed a beat for the year or so I owned
it. Other parts of the car had issues, but the engine was perfectly
reliable. A well maintained Iron Duke will run just about forever, but
don’t expect it to get anywhere fast!
Nice car. The last of the GM X cars.
Never thought I’d hear that about my little Buick. Most people couldn’t
drive it – they’d just hate it, but I think its great. I’ll have to make a
video of why…
Did the 85 only come in a 4 cylinder? My aunt had the 85 and it was tough
to keep the tailights in tact because in Brooklyn NY everybody bumps you
when you try to pararrel park.
X-bodies were offered with the Iron Duke or the 2.8 V6, I don’t think there
were any other engine options.
sweet ride!
looks way better. i didnt even notice the other taillight untill i saw how
faded the back up light window was.
