In this video I show how I installed a transmission cooler in our Volvo S70 GLT. A transmission cooler should help reduce the need for transmission service and hopefully extend the life of the transmission.

Just had an inline one put into my 2001 v70 t5. Shifts a lot smoother now after the flush, has a filter, wish this was put in stock by volvo. They knew these transmissions were crap. My indy mechanic charged me $600 in labor for the flush, b4 cover, and custom mounting the filter/thermostat/cooler.
Can I bypass the radiator and go straight from the trans to the cooler or do i have to install it inline? I suspect my radiator has an internal leak and i dont want fluids crossing which is why i want the extra cooler.? Thanks
Robert we've spoken before about this, and I've been banging on forever about this same issue, My hobby horse, these boxes are under-cooled. I've gone one better and put a thermostat valve on mine thus hte stock cooler heats it and only when required the stat lets in ex-C70 rad like you have:
Overheating Auto Transmissions: Manuals are pretty much bullet-proof, and so are autos if you flush or fit a cooler. Google Gibbons Flush, you'll find all you need ot know. If not most won't get to high miles. I have £50 that says your ATF is black. Damage is being done. Not an issue if you don't drive the thing, but for the rest of us… Links on this issue.

Robert what year C70 you pull the cooler from 99?
Room for a FMIC and this cooler? I just found one off a C70 about a week after I did my FMIC install.
Found a C70 but the transmission cooler was in bad shape.
