Volvo VEA Diesel EGR + Manifold Removal/Cleaning (V40 and other models)

Volvo VEA Diesel EGR + Manifold Removal/Cleaning (V40 and other models)

Today’s video reviews a weakness which is common to not only Volvos, but most of the “newer” generation diesels – carbon buildup. The EGR with all of it’s emission reduction benefits is one of the biggest contributors to the soot buildup, which as a result affects the lifespan and performance of the engine. If you don’t do any cleaning procedures once in a while chances are buildup will either cause EGR valve getting stuck or its cooler to get clogged. Moreover, the recirculated exhaust gases will also pass through the intake manifold, thus speeding up the swirl flaps failure too. The procedure shown in this video is quite straighforward and could save you a lot of money, so check it out!

Procedure is applicable to all of the 2.0 VEA diesel variants – D2, D3, D4.
