Good video helped me get started. Im having the same problem as you with
getting the driveshaft out of the gearbox, its stuck really well… did you
get yours out – in that case, how?

TXCVOLVO1 says:

Hi, yes the grease took about 100 miles to make a real difference,
ultimately, it really needs a joint/shaft, but the vibration is gone (at
least for now) unless I’m fully loaded plus a trailer. If I ever get round
to replacing this, I’ll upload another vid, cheers.

Mike Loucas says:

Great video. I Like your technique. Volvo pack the inner CV with a clay
coloured oozy grease from the factory. It is very unlike the black grease
commonly found on inner CVs. Be careful with aftermarket axles as they’re
rarely filled with a quality axle grease and are usually underfilled due to
being manufactured you know where!!

guitartricky says:

Did you know about the cir-clip that holds the inner splines into the
transaxle? I’ve heard rotating the axle and trying it at different points
until the cir-clip is at the right orientation sometimes does the trick.
The passenger side has no clip to worry about, it just slides out.

Awesome, thanks for the quick reply.

Did the re-lube work out for you? I noticed that you haven’t posted a
follow-up video. Regards
