Volvo V70 ABS Tracs Module

This is the module off of a 1999 Volvo V70. I had the typical ABS/TRACS failure and repaired it myself. Prior to the repair the ABS, TRACS, and check engine …

I Just reflowed the existing solder on many of the connections. When I
installed the new capacitors I used a fine gauge electrical solder. I
wouldn’t hesitate to use any type of solder as long as you feel comfortable
working with it.

Hello, does it matter what type of solder?

Richard Ban says:

Sounds like the ABS Module. Does the car go into limp mode?

kzkustomz says:

What MIL code was your volvo giving, I have a 2000 C70 with only 60k and it
now does some weird things with the ABS and the odometer goes flat lines
and the speedo goes to zero, then it resets. It was giving a code like
p1550 (i think)

David Boström says:

The aluminum electrolytic capasitors are infact polarised and will blow up
if mounted in wrong direction .however i woke one night and thought up a
simple solution.i just measuered between the certain negative point on the
right capacitor point and the ones i was uncertain about .then i got the
negative solder point

David Boström says:

Hi! My capasitors the little shiny brown/silver things was in such a bad
shape and pretty much fell of by itself when i poked on them. i purched new
ones exatcly the same model but i can for the love of god not figure out
witch direction the suppose to be mounted in, one is clear since one of u r
s is still there. But the other one? the one on the left? do you know witch
way the brown marking are suppose to face? tnx in advance

I have a volvo s60 2004 model and have a problem with ABS Module, can i
used this step/procedure to repair my module

hsvsenator355 says:

Very good, most informative. I don’t have a volvo, however the basics are
the same as in my abs module. I must agree!! The hardest part of the job is
pulling the case apart as neatly as possible so you can re-assemble once
done inside!!

Richard Ban says:

I would do some more research before attempting to repair your module. You
have a P2 generation Volvo which may vary from the P1 1999 v70xc, which is
what this video is based on.

Alex Benter says:

Thank You and hoping we can find a solution for my car problem

Sisyphus Media says:

I found this video while trying to crack the case on mine. Will now break
out the Dremel! By the way, I was able to get the torx bolts out with a
5/32″ socket with no trouble at all.
