Waste of time get a new etm through XemodeX.

volvosweden says:

Great. I did mine on my 99 S80 years ago and it did not help. The dealer
replaced the ETM under warranty.

danielomerol says:

i have an s60 also and what mine does is that when on full throttle and
passing by 3 to 5rpms the car starts to push nice and then low, then high
again, then low, and thats all the way, my revs dont jump when i stop or
when on parking, i dont know if it could be the TCV or there’s a leak on
the vacum for the wastegate or if its the ETM that’s failing on its
function, what can you suggest? thanks in advance

Tom Jones says:

Also, clean the MAF sensor with the specific CRC MAF sensor spray by
removing the top of the air filter box, and spraying the sensor in the
direction of the air flow.

Richard Damacio says:

I own a 2002 Volvo S60 and been pretty up to date on maintenance by my end
and even though I do not have a ETM light on I wouldn’t mind going under my
hood to give it some love. All thanks to your video 🙂

phantomsorted says:

thank you so much for this video just spent 2 hours on my volvo c70 2.0
turbo following your video and it now works perfectly. was supposed to take
my car into the dealership on thursday and the quote was £200.00 all it
cost me was a socket set for £24.99 and throttle cleaner for £6.99. £168.02
savings. followed shadyMinor comment and waited for 10 mins and started
without any idle problem.

adamthestimator says:

Did your ETS light come on before you did this? Did it go off after? I
didn’t see it, but you also have an info box to the left side of your
cluster that I can’t read. Great job! Thanks for taking the time to stop
and record what you did! Probably would have only taken 3 1/2 hours if you
didn’t! 😉

Thanks man, Iv’e been searching to find how to access this on my model and
you’re vid is the only one I’ve found. Really appreciate your time

wannafly says:

not so details, less informative

ShadyMinor says:

You had to allow the ETM to learn its adaptations before you started it,
that is why it was idling badly on initial start- usually let it sit with
ignition on but not started for 10 minutes or so, plus have it on a
continuous power supply. Hope that helps anyone in the future.

Mike Loucas says:

That looks easy to access!! You should see how hard it is on a S70 turbo
Gen 1 P80 platform.

guitartricky says:

That took some nerve for a shade tree mechanic such as yourself to attempt
let alone complete with success! Way 2 go! Did you ever figure out why the
car was revving high after your initial completion?
