We’re here again with Jay to show you how to disassemble and replace the components that make up your outside mirror assembly.
Volvo sells these components in a few different varieties. The early years of the S60/V70 can be purchased as an entire mirror assembly making your life much easier as they bolt directly up to the door. Just snap on a new cover and a mirror glass and your good to go.
For the later model years, unfortunately the units aren’t sold as an assembly so you’ll need to disassemble the mirror in order to replace the broken pieces at hand.

I am in the process of replacing my passenger side mirror on my 2004 volvo S60 with a side mirror from a V70. My Problem is that my replacement has an indicator on it as well. Will this work?
Thanks for this walk-through, it helped me to replace my passenger side mirror assembly. Only thing to note for other s60 R owners is when popping the 8 door clips, it's best to use a tiny nail so you can push (hammer) the middle of the clip all the way inside, so the clip can be removed safely.
What are the two white plastic tabs on the back side of the mirror glass for?
is this the same mirror assembly for 07 s60 2.5t ?
Why not show greater detail? This is an expensive part to replace if someone fails to pry on the exact spot or "clip"…
