VOLVO S60 and V70 Fuel Pump Replacement. DIY, Step by Step for 01-08 models.

VOLVO S60 and V70 Fuel Pump Replacement. DIY, Step by Step for 01-08 models.

Here is one that many people pay big bucks for. The fuel pumps in these will leak, or fail altogether, and it can cost an average of $500 to $750 yo replacement at a shop.
I bought this pump on ebay for less than $80, and splurged for the $18 fuel pump socket to go with it.
When your done, you can always resell the socket!

The light on that snap-on is serious

Great job, you made it look easy!

Wow the way you turn that tool very Ruff and you could take more time to tie off the carpet so you're not struggling to get it out of the way. I wouldn't want you to work on my car.

shayne baldwin says:

There’s a recall on those fuel pumps as well so you could get it done FREE

If you're in the US, check with your local Volvo dealer to see if they'll replace the pump under Manufacturer Campaign Number R220. I'm in Germany, so many thanks for this video as I have to do mine myself (or pay someone to do it)

SunsetClips says:

My Volvo won’t start not because of the battery but u think it has something to do with the fuel pump, will this replacement fix this problem?

Charles Walker says:

Great video! I've got a fuel gauge reading empty all the time. Research says entire fuel pump needed to fix the issue. Anyway to test

Hannes Kirsman says:

Great video! I wonder what the mechanics did wrong on my car but after replacing the pump and after fueling up my dash showed half full. They tried to fix it – adjust wires – but same issue. Eventually they put together old and new pump and it's kind of ok but the car is put of gas before I see the red bulb turning on. Actually it shows like 10% still in. Was it too cheap pump. Would getting something like Bosch fix it?

CamaroDude says:

Hey! Great video! I have no connector on my old pump. It looks like the new pump on this video has the connector but no actual pins in it. All of the replacement ones I can find have the connector and actual pins in the connector. Am I searching for the wrong pump or are they all interchangeable?

Thank you so much for this great video…just what i needed, and finally I could leave this frustration behind 🙂

NW Sights says:

That's weird, I got access to the circle cover on the passenger side and removed it but there was nothing under it besides just the top of the gas tank. And my fuel filter isn't under the passenger side of the car either.

$350 for that pump in Canada June 2022

Bruno Jaeger says:

Great tutorial! One question tho: My original pump has no connector on the top. (It also looked like your original one didn’t) But all the replacement pumps have the connector on top, just like your replacement. Do you just not plug it in?
