Our Volvo 850 needed a new head gasket so we removed the head. We send the head to an engine specialist to get it overhauled and now we got it back in perfect condition. Time to install a new head gasket and start reinstalling the new head!
We also replaced some of the last old coolant hoses, the coolant pipe and the water pump.

– Project’s Background Story –
On February 21 ’09 our dad bought this ’96 Volvo 850 2.5L 20V estate. The Volvo has a big emotional value for us and seeing the car sitting still for so many years and watching nature taking over broke our hearts. After nine years, and sitting outside for 7 of those 9 years, we finally got our hands on the 850 and brought it back home where we will restore it to its former glory. Once we finish the restoration, we intend to make a road trip and keep in the family for many more years to come.

No need for cleaning piston crowns, waste of time and you risk damaging the block or cylinder wall, and all of the crap goes down between the piston and sleeve. The piston will look the same in no time anyways
The look of pure joy and excitement on your brother’s face during the intro when realizing how much work he was looking at!!!!! I’m pretty sure the guy who designed the water pump was in to leather, whips and chains because of on how painful it is to get it out. Hate that thing.
Ben wel benieuwd hoeveel de kop reviseren ongeveer heeft gekost. Ben bang dat mijn C70 2.3 T5 er ook aan moet geloven. Ik heb problemen met tikkende klepstoters na het vervangen van de hydraulische klepstoters helaas nog steeds een tikkend geluid.
