It is very well equipped for a base model. There is too much equipment for Mr Seabrook and definitely enough for Mr Lloyd.
S Models are 1/2 Multifunction to you Sir, not full. Odd, but true, Volvo definitely managed to bore-induce spec delete as you say, a little wood and leather and they're a great interior.
Lovely example even in the odd colour. Will be a good bargain for someone, hope they look after it.
This S40 would suit me with the 1.6 litre engine. I guess that this model and the C30 were replaced by the Versatile 40.
