Scotty, I enjoy your channel, but need to correct your statement that Ford SHO Taurus engine (3.0) was built by Yamaha in the U.S.
The first year 1989 to 1992 engines were built by Yamaha in Japan and entered the U.S. for installation by FOMOCO in Atlanta assembly.
I was a Service Manager at a Ford dealership in So. calif. and member of a product and engineering advisory group.
We had a new 1989 SHO Towed in with a major failed engine assembly from an ingested cat converter that broke up and ingested on decel into the engine and destroying it.
The warranty replacement engine assembly took a week to arrive and was air freighted from Japan.
Because of tariff regulations and import fees the net assly cost was $20,000. plus labor.
This obviously involved many people at Ford and many levels to complete.
Most expensive warranty repair I can remember processing in my 30 year career.
That Volvo V8 engine is just a bigger version of the Ford Taurus 3.4 v8 used in the 1996-99 SHO versions.
