I tried all of that. My friend had tried to take the radio out, to see if the code was ontop. I called the dealer for the code, entered it, and yet it still only says code. It won’t say eeee or off, it just stays on code. Whether the car is on or off, it always, stays on and says code. Please help!

Robert DIY says:

You drove more than 2 hours without turning the car off? Was the radio powered on? If that is the case, you will have to leave the radio on the I position for 2 hours.

MEGAMEN83 says:

Hey Robert I have a 2000 Volvo v70 and it doesn’t come off the off mode and I drove more than 2 hours can you please help me

Robert DIY says:

You are welcome.

tawan oris says:

Thank you.

Robert DIY says:

Any interruption can reset the clock. Make sure the radio is powered on and the car ignition is on.

12browne says:

been trying all night to get it back to code.. had it in i ii and running each for two hours, the battery was almost dead so i had it hooked up to the truck with a booster cable could this be why it never changed to code yet?

Robert DIY says:

No universal code. You need to contact a dealer to get it.

Thank you for doing this. This was a tremendous help. I couldn’t find the code, so I called Volvo. They asked me for the VIN number. When they confirmed it, they gave me the code over the phone. By doing what you said in the video, I was able to get the stereo to work again. Thanks again!

Robert DIY says:

Watch the video, it tells you how to get the code.

Robert DIY says:

You are welcome.

NIDAL ALMESLAMANI says:

Thanks

Robert DIY says:

You are kidding right? If there was a short cut, I would have posted it. You can always go to the dealer, purchase a new radio for $750, plug it in and be good to go.

Mochi Pie says:

wow ok thank you so much! jw, is it possible to just unplug the radio and plug it back in to get the code display instead of leaving it on for 2hrs? im a little impatient over here as u can see XD

Robert DIY says:

The ignition has 4 positions.
0 = Off
I = Accessory
II = Run
III = Start

You have to allow the radio to reset by turning the car ON (II = Run) but not running, let it sit for 2 hours, then it should say CODE. The car and the radio has to be ON. Then enter the proper code. If you enter a 4 digit code that DOES NOT WORK, the screen will say RPT. If you get that message, you have the WRONG code.

Robert DIY says:

As explained in the video, the wrong code was entered. Now you have to allow the radio to reset by turning the car ON but not running, let it sit for 2 hours, then it should say CODE. The car and the radio has to be ON.

Mochi Pie says:

By run position do u mean in accessory mode with all the lights on without the engine actually running?

Robert DIY says:

Some do and some don’t. Most have to have the 2 hours of continuous ON with the key in the run position with the car NOT running. Just sitting there.

Mochi Pie says:

I drive a volvo s70 and whenever I start the car my radio says “OFF” so is it okay if i drive 1 hour one day and then 1 hour the next day? Will I get the code eventually or does it have to be 2 CONTINUOUS hours of driving?

Robert DIY says:

As the video instructs, you have to leave the car on (not running) and the radio ON for 2 hours, UN-interrupted.

FritoFredrik says:

I got a SC-801 i need the code for. so if i go to a volvo with the unit and ask they should get it for me?
