So my car has a light on about the passenger air bag being on I boughta Reader it read the car a knew the vn number but then said was no error codes but the lights still on. The Reader also said it doesn't have any stored codes can you help me figure out how to get the light off

I saw this somewhere that some cars don't have the fog light button to press. My 2001 V70 XC keeps kicking out Catalytic insufficiency bank #1 code I think p0422 or p0244 (sorry I'm dyslexic) with a code scanner I use that doesn't help me much. Other systems this can be the purge valve, but I don't think it is in Volvo's diagnosis playbook. Is this a simple cause to trace and fix or not?
Thanks for sharing this tid bit about Volvo though, it should really help many people even now since so many of these vehicles have remained on the road. It seems like they really had some growing pains but anyone that gets one now might get one with the major problems fixed and just little wear and tear buggers to keep chasing. And these should be chased!

When the display shows checking if you wait will it eventually respond? As I did a test and was waiting a few minutes and it keep displaying checking.
Disappointing video. Does not in fact tell you how to pull codes (you still need a scan tool for that) – just tells you that you have fault codes (although it does tell you in what area. The initial instruction are impossible to hear. Thanks to those who explain it below.
