The rears have the emergency brake inside the hub of the rotor space so the steps will be different when replacing the rotor.
Do you take the same steps to replace the rear brakes as you do for the front brakes?
You can used the old ones.
The Haynes manual says to replace caliper bolts with new when removed. Do you agree?
Excellent video, thank you for posting.
@Rhandahl yeah I agree .. but I used a metric 7 hex bit. aworked fine.
Luckily, when I checked today, before buying discs and pads, the mechanic that changed the calipers have changed the glidebolts aswell, so now its umbraco bits instead, the t47 is close to impossible to get hold of hereabouts it seems:P Now I got something to do during the christmas holidays.
Good video anyway:)
I wish I had a garage with a two-beam lifter:P
helpful. 7mm torx socket….
Thanks for checking us out. Have a great day. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393
Great video though! It’s actually really nice that you put these DIYs up to help people out.
Where did you come up with that a T47 was the correct tool to remove a Volvo caliper? The slide pins are 7mm hex not torx. That’s pretty standard for all FWD/AWD Volvos.
Incredible video. Thanks! Just an FYI to those attempting to do this on an S80 (I have 2001) you will want to use the T-45, not the T-47. Just saying after multiple trips to pep boys. And they do sell individual bits! Cheers.
Sometimes the T-47’s are hard to find by themselves.
Mine was a T45 torque bit. Drove round a few stores trying to find a T47 as I didn’t have one… They all had T45’s! Still your video was useful but the job cost me a whole set of bits as they didnt sell a T47 on its own!
