Grenaded Volvo…Grenades COMPLETELY? (Part 3 – Next-Day COMEBACK??)

You have to be KIDDING ME…
Customer drove his repaired Volvo for ONE DAY…everything was going great, and then BOOM it lost power and started shaking worse than before!! CRAP!!!

Let’s take a look and see if the problem is related to the recent repair…I sincerely hope it’s not.

Lawrence Lamson says:

Having the head off to cya I would've done all valves as a piece of mind

myko freder says:

It was plastic and maybe tin that did the damage and that is the unusual part, it is like you threw plastic marbles into the valve cover. You see plenty of mechanical damage but the engine itself is the usual cause and it is fatal.

Matthew Fairbank says:

Auto parts store just plugged in 2.5L model and the HPT vs LPT engines use different coils but are both 2.5L. Silver connector for 04-09 T5/R models.

Ben Johnson says:

From my Volvo mechanic: The ignition coils generally fail because spark plugs are way overdue for replacement.

Steve Snyder says:

If it was me I would have fluid tested the valves before I put it back together. I did not watch #2 vid so maybe you did??

Michael Jordan says:

On that oil leak from the VVT solenoid if what you did doesn't hold maybe consider planing the surface?

Bob Gaudet says:

I wish you'd check the intake to see if there's any leakage through them just to confirm everything's okay with the heads

Mike Leopold says:

Glad you helped a guy out but be careful working on credit. I've seen many good people get shafted and have to close up shop. Big and small. Cheers.

22video11 says:

If you look under different years (2007 for instance) on Rock Auto you can find the right coil

MrTonyPiscatelle says:

Yep I could see how excited you were to see the Volvo again—————————–and again —————————–and again. I'll give you this much.. determination and no quit ! You da man. Way to hang Ivan. Great job

DEAR SIR,
YOU ARE A GREAT HUMAN BEING, HELPING THE CUSTOMER IN SUCH A GREAT WAY. I HOPE,"HE IS DECENT AND TRUSTWORTHY AND PAY YOU AND COMMIT TO YOUR GREATEST EFFORT IN
REPAIRING HIS VEHICLE IN SUCH A GREAT WAY".
YOU BROUGHT HIS CAR FROM DEATH. I AM 76 YEARS OLD WITH 54 YEARS EXPERIENCE IN THE AUTOMOTIVE FIELD.
YOUR HELP TO THE CUSTOMER ARE ONE OF A KINDEST ACT ON EARTH.
YOU WILL ALSO REWARD BY YOUR CREATOR. I HOPE THE CUSTOMER WILL UNDERSTAND, " YOU ARE AN EXAMPLE TO DECENCY." THANK YOU, IVAN.

Billy Horton says:

" Its too short" is not something you want to hear especially if its a female! Seriously, from personal experience, to check for valve seal after cylinder head is removed, is to lay head horizontally and pour solvent into intake/exhaust port and check amount of seepage from valve head. Experience will tell you what is excessive. When doing leak down check, from a lit cigarette, blow smoke into hose screwed into spark hole, before attaching air pressure, will help in finding air leak.

Shackles and Shenanigans says:

Rings might be stuck. Try some seafoam in the cylinder lol

Awesomus Maximus says:

Wow that's a fluke

noel castle says:

Wow just have a coil fail right after that big repair , murphys law they call that. Happens sometimes in my game and usually the customer tries to blame you and refuses to pay for the extra repair claiming some kind of warranty, luckily he was there watching you and saw you fix it with the coil. Glad it had a good ending hope he pays you properly over the time you agreed to hes lucky to get someone to except a pay later kind of deal. My boss has been burnt by customers and all repairs are pay in full on completion.

paul oneill says:

half a job and fail, what a surprise

Russell Booth says:

My 5.7 litre Chevrolet LS1 V8 engine uses a bit over a quart (1 litre) in 10,000 kilometres (6000 miles) & it has done almost 389,000 kilometres (almost 242,000 miles).

If you remove the oil filler cap whilst the engine is running then stick an A4 sheet of paper over the opening & it doesn't push it off then it has no blowby,if it does,it has.

Also, the new valves might take a while to seal off fully,I know that when my dad had an engine rebuilt as new it needed a valve lash adjustment about 1000 kilometres after it was rebuilt.

It's a bit like when the piston rings seat into the cylinder walls in a rebuilt engine, the compression will be lower until the piston rings bed into the cylinder walls !

Bankrupt no money owner and Ivan is already giving carity work extras to the begger.
Come on guys, Ivan is already operating a shoestring shop with a wife n kids to feed
Too many shops go under for no pay customers
Ivan stated several times he didnt expect to get paid even for 5he work he did on credit
Owner requested only minimum work done

SATAMAN Schmidt says:

No good dead goes unpunished. You have a good heart Ivan but unless you're making your money off of these YouTube videos working on this crap cannot be a good business decision. You need a 10 year maximum age rule. Anything before 2013 you need to send down the road.
