Tom Jones says:

Experts say to use only the CRC Maf sensor spray.. it’s 10$ a can. It
should be sprayed in the direction of the air flow, from inside the box
cover, that’s where it gets covered with dirt even with a clean air filter.
Mine had a black crust, at 100K miles.

So what if the parts don’t fit. At least they were cheap!

Auto Parts Direct To You says:

PO300 can be caused by many many things,, the most common is a vacuum leak.
I would start by making sure that you have no vacuum leaks. PO300 is not
usually a spark plug or ignition coil issue, because if that were the case,
only a single cylinder would be affected.

Auto Parts Direct To You says:

Just gotta be extremely careful, sometimes the hot-wire element itself
inside a MAF sensor is very delicate and can break very easily. I say this
from a first hand experience a while ago 🙁 .

Just wanted to add a personal opinion, the Maf Bosch sensor in the Volvo is
the hot wire type. It’s a wild guess, but I don’t think it will hurt a
careful cleaning with a q-tip soaked in a some warm water. In case the CRC
cleaner is not available.

Jahan Zeb says:

It is normal, it was a bomb blast nearby.

Auto Parts Direct To You says:

Good tip! A Dirty MAF sensor can cause all sorts of driveability problems.

madbull9988 says:

why would you replace working ignition coils. Seems like a waste of money
to me.

Jahan Zeb says:

This is what I am thinking also.

Auto Parts Direct To You says:

We did! Thanks! 🙂

Tom Jones says:

One important tune-up is also cleaning the MAF sensor, on top of the air
filter box (just need to remove the box cover and spray the sensor from
underneath).
