WOW what a difference!!! Job well done. Thank you. How about the front
shocks (struts). Do you have a video for that? Thanks again.
Great video, thanks! I just changed the rear shocks&support plates on my
2002 V70 w/134,000 miles.I followed your steps and it was easy.It took less
than three hours. I used Volvo dealer parts. They charged me $323 with
tax,$240 for the two shocks and $83 for the two support plates. The new
bolts were extra. Before the change,I had the same type of bounce when
pressing the bumper.I also had a loud vibration on passenger side when
hitting small holes. Now,no bounce or vibration.Beer after was perfect!
Excellent videos, thanks for posting, and keep them coming 🙂
did the Sachs get softer over time?
So you installed Sachs struts/shocks? How is the ride? As good as new
shocks?
I am glad it helps others.
i own a volvo s80 1999 2.9, i think i am in need of updating my shocks too.
Nice video and thanks for posting.
Thanks for posting! When you pulled the bolt out from below, the shock
seemed to be extended … did you have to “compress” or force the shock
back in? Also, did you research info on the Sachs shocks? I was looking for
a good replacement all around. Forums claim that KYB is the best but the
Monroe OESpectrum seem to be a good choice … did you do the front struts?
Clear, consice and to the point. The process was documented very well.
Excellent work!
Big difference! Thanks for posting.
thanks for posting this video. it was very helpful. i like the way you
explained everything. well done..:-)
Thanks for video
Use jack to force the shock in and out. I did not research any shocks I
went with original shocks. Yes I did the front struts. That was before I
put videos on youtube.
So the spring stays in the car…??…
Yes, no need to remove the spring.
Hey, it seems you’ve just done the same repairs that I need to do now.
Great videos so far. They are very helpful and well explained. 10x
Is it gonna be the same procedure if I do it on my S60? I got problem at my
rear shocks too.
