Can you please share how you diagnosed the coolant temperature sensor
(called cold start fuel injector sensor for my 87 245)? I’m fairly certain
that is the faulty part causing my hard cold starts. Starts perfect once
warmed…

Thank You, man ! Even if it will not work for me -not a big loss .
I’m greatly appreciate the very detail in which You explained.
To figure this one out for an average shop in US it will take hours of
paid labor, they will replace manifold ,catalytic converter , oxygen sensor
, sunroof and still will not do the job right. The answer is – do it
yourself .
By the way , my 5 cents. This is the correct way to drain the radiator .
Yes , there is a probably a drain hole on the radiator. What if it’s stuck>
You broke the plastic made a crack in the radiator – now what? Radiator
replacement?

Can’t remember the size but is an open wrench set for brake lines.

What did you guys use to clean out the coolant reservoir? (chemical flush
or?)

Thomas Rehm says:

yes, good to know. Most people mix up the sensor for BOSCH LH and the gauge
sensor. But you don´t have to disconnect the water hose to drain the
coolant. There is a little tap (valve, spigot or faucet) on the lower mid
right side of the motor, where you can easily drain the coolant.

volvosweden says:

I used everything I could find under the sink:) Including brake cleaner.

Armando Martinez says:

I replaced my sensor and two days later my 1988 240 volvo doesn’t start in
the mornings. I get home in the afternoon from work and the car turns on
like if it never had a problem. ???? I have spark, fuel. Fuel pressure
regulator? MAF needs cleaning? Idle air control valve?

Your videos are wonderful. Great HD quality, and I’m really happy I found
your channel. Volvo 240 is my favorite car! I just need to get another one
now.

BessieMorrison says:

Thanks for the info. Will try this on my own. The idle is a little rough at
cold starts.

Zach Sandoe says:

what is that wrench your using?
