pastie b says:

Nice vid,im guessing this will be pretty much the same process for my fabia
pd100,it is a VNT

81keyholder says:

Maybe you should go give the man at london turbos a hand.. I brought a
cartridge from them to replace my own, smoked like a trooper after i fitted
it, went out brought a genuine garret turbo.. Guess what.. it worked right
out the box. !!

So i rebuilt the so called new cartridge all to find the oil seals were
missing in the first place. it now resides in its new home in a friends
laguna after i rebuilt it.

I wouldnt touch the guys company in the description again even if you paid
me to!!!

self employed mechanic for 15 years, guy woudnt give me a refund due to
working from my own garage. What a load of bollocks!! grab the money then
deny all faults is their game !! yet again other garages have to put
cowboys faults correct at the expense of the customer who ends up paying
out twice!!

immortalbhambra says:

Nice stuff mate.
I have already disassembled a turbo and the propeller of one side was gone
and seized the vnt section. Put the other one and that ones kinda leaking
and making car smoke on go.
Now what I am thinking is to remove all the stuff from both and make one.
Should that be a good idea? Will put some mark on shaft and propellers to
keep em on right track. Any advice will be helpful.
And one more thing using same tools as I do most of the time

Jacob Swanson says:

I am missing the split ring that holds on my actuator rod.. Do you happen
to know what size its is, or a part number or anything to help me find one?
Thanks man, awesome video!

always very informative. Keep up the good work

Emre Benturk says:

Man this is crazy, you are near the blow the engine haha. This operation is
not the right way. All variable geometyr turbochargers need to be high
sensetive vnt mechanism calibrations

Robert Evans says:

Great video. I already stripped it down before finding the video but I
didn’t record where the veins are supposed to be? The core is destroyed, it
imploded and sucked the engine dry of oil. Its my friends car but I said I
would mend it for him.

Smoooove says:

Sergejs Petrovs says:

always great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

81keyholder says:

No I ordered it before I seen this video. I would recommend for an xtra
£150 to buy a whole new genuine turbo. For the grief of rebuilding etc. +
it will also stop garages like London turbos from saying there was an error
with re fitting a cartridge.

Goran Miceta says:

Great videos man keep on going…had the same problem with my skoda octavia
1.9tdi now i know what hapened :)

Cedric Poitras Kaempf says:

Hey man, great video. Tried to email your contact for the core but it
bounced back… Any chance we can get a core in Canada? How would we check
for compatibility? I have a 2001 Jetta TDI mk4. Thanks for any help.

immortalbhambra says:

amp was gone already as I been using it for home use

great video – thanks for posting – got this job to do soon on my sharan

ivarev says:

great video, but small mistake at 16:55. heat shield of actuator has to be
from other side, at hot side of turbo.

RealGX says:

Hi mate, I was suppose to come and see you about my car but I just didn’t
have the time, preparing for exams and all that, how much do you charge for
this job? Because this limp mode issue is really getting on my nerves.

My turbo has just given up and I found this excellent guide. Although mines
an Audi, its very similar. Best guide out there, very clear and easy to
understand. Thanks for taking the time to do this and helping us all save
money.
