I made a new key on my 2012 Skoda Octavia FL with a used key and new transponder

Mudit Wahal says:

Thank you for the tutorial - the putting back the key with counterclock wise action is very important – I missed it first time and the key wont open!

Are there any videos on youtube of someone actually swapping over the PCB & RFID chip into a replacement case for VW or Audi…?

Nuri Berksoy says:

I have a 2008 Vw touarge and my trunk button stop working if I get another use key or new one could I change the key part and that chip

I lost the top part of my Audi key(the part that you use to start the car), can I get a new one without the top part?

cypeg says:

thanks! I had an old style audi remote (1997) and couldnt find a replacement. SOo I ordered the VW old key you showed, took it apart, put in the chip, made a new key cut and closed it. worked like a charm. The only sad thing is that the circuit is too big to fit in the VW key. back to manual hehe

uazazua says:

On the older style of VW remotes 2009 and Older. The key fob can be removed by firmly pulling the two parts appart with a left to right motion. No need to mess with the screw to get to the board or the battery.

Kyranoboss says:

How do you replace the curcuit??

david rankine says:

2005 audi a8 I want to get a newer fob like 2012 models, but I call audi and they said they cant upgrade because its a 2005. Is this true?

K Brooks says:

Very helpful tutorial. One important thing – for the older fobs for the earlier vehicles (no rubberized logo), the immobilizer chip may be tightly glued in… making it almost impossible to remove without damage. You have to use a dremel to cut around the plastic, otherwise you will damage the glass casing. I damaged the chip on my spare key, but luckily I don’t really need the chip… so both keys do work.

Stefan Damjanovic says:

Does replacing the immobilizer chip require any kind of coding? or if it is replaced, and was the problem, will it be ready to be used?

kamilchic says:

thanks , helpful video
