Good video. I needed to see what was involved before taking my door apart,
your video shows exactly what to do.
thanks.
Also to remove the handle what driver is that? Ex. Square, torques, so on
so forth
The driver’s side door micro switch in my wife’s 2008 Jetta is failing, so
I need to get at the lock mechanism. I watched this video get at it by
removing the door skin and others get at it by taking apart things from the
inside. What is the easiest way to get at the mechanism? Most forums go
from the inside, but you make the outside way look pretty good in this
video, assuming the 2008 Jetta is similar. My skill level is pretty good,
but most of my VW experience is with a 1974 412 wagon which doesn’t really
compare. Thank you.
Love the sound of a workshop when working. Sorry for my english
Thanks Thomas .. this is a very useful video
It’s a 2007 gti. You have been a great help. I can’t thank you enough!
Thomas I am having an issue with my door indicator lighting up. I was told
that if I cleaned the connections in the locking mechanism it would fix
that problem. Do you have any insight. Btw fantastic video! thank you!
Thanks for your quick response! I was able to make a tube with a notch to
compress and rotate the spring for the door cylinder. But tomorrow i will
look into the locking ring situation because i couldnt get it to seat
properly kept falling of when inserting the cylinder. Im gonna try to
remove the handle? Thanks again!
No estoy seguro de si son los mismos … Tendría que ver los números de
pieza
se puede instalar el yavin de vw mk4????
As I took my door lock cylinder my locking ring fell off, now I need to put
it back but can’t find a way to reseat it. Also how do you compress the
spring inside the door lock cylinder? Thanks
The locking ring can only go back one way… it should make sense after
looking at it long enough. Remember that the screw needs to engage the ring
and that the ring rotates in order for it to grab or let go of the
cylinder. The spring under the little paddle that engages the door lock
module? I push the little paddle down over the spring and the lock it down
with the locking clip…. if I’m thinking right. Post a video of the issue
(s) and pm me the link.
Cómo lograste quitar la manija delantera. No lo pusiste bien explicado.
Saludos
Gracias Thomas, excelente video me ha sido muy útil.
