upstream sensor measures the O2. That’s how the computer detects the flow.
There is no actual flow sensor. Now Dave, I’m not sure fun would be the
correct word for diagnostics on this thing… 🙂

Not sure about from previous clips Dave. I did however reload this video to
include taking out the cooling fans, but nothing came from previous videos
that I’m aware of. I’ll take a look. You are correct that the pump only
helps with emissions. At startup when engine is cold, the mixture is
richer, so the pump will bring in some outside air to lean the mixture at
exhaust which also helps on the afterburning of the cat (faster warm up).
This fresh air mixes with the exhaust gas where O2…cont)

The first part of this video seems to have clips from previous episodes.
Now the fun begins with diagnostics! Looking at how much work it is to get
here, I’m not surprised some people just live with a bad air pump — I read
somewhere that the main function is to pass an emissions test rather than
improve performance.
