Hi many thanks for very informative videos, one question, if the lock
faults when the door is closed, how do you get it open to work on it???
John
Tanks from Argentina!!
wan tuf job I wounder what vw dealers charge for this repair
Thanks for the video sir,it help me a lot !
Yes, that would be an interesting sight to see. Would they be cursing? I’d
say probably so. Yup, next job on the list looks like those rear bushings.
Are you ready to help me with that Joe? After that, I’ll try to get a
couple of videos together for you on tools and specialized equipment.
Stuzman, Just wanted to say thanks for posting these vids. Ive followed
each step and replaced two rear locks on a 2002 European VW Golf. Exactly
the same steps as your Jetta. VW wanted €600 for the job. I bought the two
locks for €70 and followed your steps. Great stuff. Thanks again.
I would like to see VW German workers doing the same operation and keeping
their calm without cursing… Now let’s get fixed that rear stabilizer bar
bushings.
Nothing would please me more than be there at your garage in the flesh and
work with you, but I doubt those scumbags in the government would grant me
a visa. I hope some day decent, hard working American people will rise and
get rid of all thieves, war mongers, corrupted politicians, and their
parasitic ‘strategic ally’ state in the Middle East. Sorry for this major
rant, but I would like to visit a free America one day. Till then I look
forward to see your special tools video series. Great job!
Hi noble. Wow, 600 euros per door. That’s about $1262 dollars for us
Americans. I’m glad to hear that you were able to follow the steps and most
importantly, I’m glad to hear that you saved yourself a LOT of money. Great
job noble!
300 euros per door. 600 euros in total. Still a good saving! Thanks again.
Sorry for the confusion on my part. Still, as you say, a pretty good
savings.
I just hope we haven’t slid down the slope too far to turn back around. I
don’t like what’s going on in this country and a lot of us feel pretty
helpless. I just hope it doesn’t get any worse. Take care Joe…
