The replacement button required is a 5mm x 5mm x 1.5mm SMD Momentary 4 Pin Tactile Micro Switch. You can buy these online in mulit packs for just a few pounds. Click on my website link below for more details:
It’s a good idea to change the battery at the same time which is a standard 2032 3V battery.

It appears you didn't have to reprogram your fob. Is that correct? Does it have to be done in a short period of time to retain the codes? Thanks.

great vid cheers, my fob has stopped responding to unlock (still locks with same fob) so I am guessing the micro switch has gone…took it apart, and while the button seems to still click, I'll be ordering some replacements and changing them over…cheers for vid, I'd have never got the fob apart to access the buttons without breaking anything if it weren't for this
I mean that "safety features" is just a sticker to tell you to keep it away from said child
Lucky man. Never "unsolder" putting a blade under as you did, you can easily ruin the board.

Hey. My key for my vw passat 1.9 tdi stoped working yesterday. Same key as in the video. The red light still flashes. I changed the battery today and it still doesnt work. Does the key have to be reprogramed if you replace the battery. Any help would be appreciated…
