In this video, guest 7R star Bradd shows us how to install aftermarket folding rear view mirrors onto a MK7 car. This install was performed on a 2015 Golf R but holds true for all mk7 vehicles.

The mirrors used in this install are OEM Chinese market ones, which have puddle lights and a different signal light (as well as folding motors).

Very nice video mate. I have two questions. Is it very difficult to disassemble and install the door control module? I could not see it clearly in the video. Also, because you installed the new module, are the encodings for the old module deleted?

Did you needed to add or change any mirror module? I want to do that on my b7 passat tsi. If i only need to change the mirrors and inside button i will that.
I already have folding mirrors on my mk7,but you have to do it manually inside the car,I tried using obdeleven to make them fold on the open lock button on the remote,but the app on obd says this is not supported,doesn’t make sense as they are folding mirrors

ehi guys, do you know which pin (positive) in the 16 pin connector is for the light puddle? I have installed the lights but I don't know what is the pin positive of the light for the wiring.

I love the music selection since im a fan of Logic. Don't know how well it goes with the video but I still listened to it all. I think it would help if you explain more of what you are doing. Especially since you label this as a DIY. I dont learn much from this without you explaining what your doing and what your using to do it.

IMHO I think the install was easier that it looks actually. All the electronic elements just plugged up. With a little coding worked perfectly.
