How To Timing Belt Replacement Seat / Skoda / Volkswagen 2.0 FSI

We are replacing the timing belt on a Seat Altea which has a 2.0 FSI engine. The timing belt replacement on a FSI engine is pretty easy. The 2.0 FSI with timing belt can be found in a lot of Volkswagen, Skoda and Seat brand cars. You don’t need any special tools for this job and it takes around 3-4 hours if it’s your first time.

i know this is an old video but i need some help! when tightening the new tensioner after belt is installed how do i know how tight to make the tensioner/how far do i turn it? Apparently you're supposed to line up the notch with the tab but they dont line up no matter where i move the tensioner! Am i looking at the wrong mark? do i just tighten the tensioner until it is at its tightest point?

Excellent video with one important exception: Setting the timing belt tensioner to proper adjustment marks on the tensioner. New tensioners come with exact detail instructions to set the tension properly. Looking forward to your next video.

My 2.0 FSI BLX have 241 TKM, and working. Shit sound, medium fuel consumption but driving. Oil only 12-15 tkm change, not 30 tkm.
