I'll get straight to it:
Vehicle:
2011 VW Jetta 2.0 S.
Problem:
Tail lights won't turn on, passenger brake light stays off until I press the brake pedal unlike driver side brake light that stays on as normal
Fix attempts:
1. I switched both tail light bulbs, Sylvania 7506
2. Exchanged my old battery for a new one
3. Initially I was just going to switch my #6 10amp fuse on internal fuse box but instead I decided to switch out all my 10amp mini fuses and 20amp fuses on my internal fuse box
Summary:
Problem still persists. Tail lights are not turning on and brake light isn't working as it should. Not sure what else to try; any feedback/help is greatly appreciated.
The tabs on these things break so easily.
What are the sizes of the bulbs? I heard they're two sizes per cluster
How I can change the light for this specific model: VW passat 2016/2017? Rear light housing is totally different. It doesn't have any clip
This helped. Thanks. Really easy.
Easy and quick, something a lot of people should do. Great explanation and video!
Commenting to say that this worked super perfect with my 2017 Volkswagen Jetta. Thank yoU!
Thanks! Your instructions were spot on
Another time saver, cheers!
Parts number for 2017 VW Jetta tail be late lights?
Thank you so much!
Thank you for your life saving videos….
Thank you super easy
Thank you for the video, followed your steps and upgraded LED light bulbs. Super brighter than halogen –LOL
How do you clear/reset the brake light out warning on the dash?
Kudos for mentioning the two pins "one hugher than the other". Some bulbs have two pins but they are at the same level. Neither is higher. I am having a huge issue with my brake lights not coming off and I've already replaced the brake switch. I should have just tested it first. Eventually some of my lights turn off. I am so expecting the actual light assembly itself the little board where you plug the bulbs into.
My tail light on drivers side still won't work after replacing the bulbs even tho they didn't need it. The break light works but not the tail light when I turn the lights on. Any ideas? Fuse Maybe?
I wanted to thank you for this video.
