hey i am building a class 11 and i need to keep the oil pump stock, whats
my best bet? I’m allowed remote cooling

JonR356 says:

‘It’s not a problem to fit in front of the shroud’ I guess it’s also not a
problem to ignore all advice from Chirco in future.

redbugiii says:

Great Information!!! I had a ’63 Baja with an aftermarket Oil Cooler
located below the rear window. I believe it was a 10 pass-load and it kept
things Cool!!! Definately worthit to get better cooling!! I could keep
85mph for several hours in Central Florida heat!!!LOL—–Y a Gotta Love
better Cooling!!! Great Video and Info for those wishing to Tune and keep a
tuned VW Bug!

tommy35ss says:

have very strong case strengths. Can’t crush those with your hands what so
ever. They’re may be more also, just try squeezing them with your hands if
you’re looking for case strength. Remember the oil filter is more important
than the oil nowadays! Although I would imagine synthetic would be even
better for an air cooled engine than a water cooled

LeviMan2001 says:

No no no, not in front of the shroud! Come on! The PROBLEM with the non
doghouse shroud was blowing air through the oil cooler, heating it up. When
you stick it behind the shroud, you suck air through the oil cooler
(heating it up) and then sending that HOT air to all the cylinders. Just
convert to doghouse, and all the correct tin and it should run fine.

vwman101 says:

Thank god Chirco has a youtube account!! lol

sandrail14 says:

So, what he is saying is LEAVE the dog house cooler, and ALSO run a remote
oil cooler from the front, where its been machined, drilled and tapped? SO,
the engine will have TWO oil coolers?

xoxoXoieoxox says:

hi i have the older style coller im looking to upgrade can u tell me the
brand mame of a good cooler i mised it in the video (my hering sux =3-

tommy35ss says:

Great video, just don’t use Fram. They use card board paper end caps in the
filter on almost all their filters, their anti drain back valves fail all
the time, and their filters have imploded into engines. Cummins even issued
a tsb not to use Fram on the 5.9 because they imploded. Now the case
strength may be strong which Purolater and some of the basic oil filter
companies don’t have. But if you’re looking for case strength try K&N,
Mobil 1, or Bosch Distance Plus. I know all 3 of those filters

toyhauler1283 says:

How important is an oil booster kit for a 1973 block when running a cooler
and remote filter and a turbo line comingnoutnof the port where the sender
unit threads into the block. Also my engine is not setup for full flow.
Thanks

leandrokalisiensky says:

Hi i’m from brazil and i would like buy air cooled for my vw. u send to
brazil aswell? Thanks my email london.leandro@gmail.com

TheCorruptA says:

where can i buy this kit so that i can leave the dog house oil cooler on

redneck4life887 says:

if i was to order the oil cooler with fan how much will it lower the oil
temperature in the summer months?

Ola Svensson says:

Empi block. Is Empi still around? Sweden.

SMS570X says:

i have the oil cooler ! 😀

bugsnstuff says:

Shame on you Joe, mounting the cooler behind the shroud is just preheating
the incoming cooling air to the engine. That just stealing from Peter to
pay Paul.

mindfuckerification says:

I have always been a mustang guy, but i have to admit that i am very
interested in building a vw. What type of build would you recommend for a
street/strip bug? I was thinking boosted, but idk. Do you sell forged
pistons or will the cast work for boosted apps? I was thinking 92mmx69mm
piston kit, 69mm forged crank, Big Valve Head W/Dual Spings 90.5/92 each
Air Cooled VW Engines, andCamshaft Valve Lift .460 308 Duration .419
Cam,5.4 con rods. on about 5-10 psi. please msg me what you think.

kombibus says:

For a bus installation: Would I run the lines forward the fan shroud and
could all that hardware be mounted underneath floor on the chassis?

UrbanKhmerNinja says:

Just ordered the 6pass!

Richard Galan says:

nice Rolex.

MVP11489 says:

WOW. OK first of all, NEVER mount the oil cooler in front of the fan
shroud, unless you want to badly overheat your motor. secondly, fram
filters SUCK. the body of the filter doesn’t explode, the seam where the
body ataches 2 the part that screws onto the adaptor seperates. plus the
filter element is crap, and the inside will come apart and block ALL oil
flow 2 the motor. I’ve personally blown 3 fram filters. notice in this
video how most of the parts in his shop say EMPI. EMPI = CRAP

psygn0sis says:

Top is out… bottom is in. To remember just think of a woman lying on her
stomach. LOL.

2coolcaro says:

fuck your car get a vw!!

miketothesupra says:

dude fram is a bad oil filter

geonerd says:

Yea, do your car a favor and ditch the Orange Can of Death!

Joe Tralongo says:

i just bought a sand rail and in all the years i have been working on cars,
ive never messed with a vw engine. i thought that the oil cooler i had was
aftermarket, now i see that it is stock and i should add something better
since this 2332 is far from stock. thanks for the vid.
