You mention the link on how to remove the panel and take out the lock, however it is not listed in the description as you say. Can you please double check your links or list it? I bought your microswitch and I am trying to install, would appreciate if I can follow the whole process. Thanks.

I have a golf mk5 that will not unlock from keyfob but will lock. Its four door. The key in drivers only unlocks drivers door, and if twisted to the right twice it still wont unlock the other doors. Does this sound like the fix in your video will cure it? If so does it mean I have four door lock actuators to remove to change the microswitch on each of them?
Thanks
James

Great job as usual! Aren't you supposed to align the bracket where the cable goes back to?

Minnesnowtan says:

When you unsolder, consider using a 'solder wick" (braided copper ribbon) or a "solder sucker" which is a spring loaded plunger which creates a vacuum to suck up the solder. Also remember that solder flows toward a hotter area.

Very cool! However, do you know how to repair the Jetta MK 6 door lock? The driver's lock now only locks or unlocks by the key.

Good video! I have a question. I changed the left front door lock module microswitch. After replacing everything the door light works well and the lightpuzzer also. The problem is that the door won't lock. What is wrong now?

R. Powell says:

Holy too much solder, batman… A lot of people just beef up the cracked solder joints and this solves their problem without having to change the micro switch. If that doesn't work, then I'd say replace it.

stuart winstanley says:

is the module same as whats in the audi tt,mine seems to point to it being the micro switch also.does have to be removed to clean or can it be done in situe.

Spelter says:

First of all, use less solder, it will produce a cold solder because of the mass. Second, replace or at least check the other microswitches. Mine where dead and that was the problem with the alarm, so i open them up, clean them with some alcohol and voila, there back to life. I can make a video with 3 door modules i bought, all with the same problem.

Brilliant Channel and I agree with maicolloco69! TOP SHELF BRO!!! I have a different door lock situation; the door handles work however from time-to-time I have to pull then really slowly 2 or 3 time before the door latch will engage and then open. 03 Jetta Wolfsburg.
