Ooops put the old small o ring back on at 3:35
I have a 2012 TDI with more than 36k and looking for service information.. seems almost impossible to find!
Very same engine as my 04 vw transporter T5 but the other way round very good engines vw are.
Just gave this another thumbs up, but the thumbs down icon went up one click.
Damned annoying. Very good video. Thank you guys.
If you want to remove ALL the old oil from the engine then the bottom of the oil cooler housing has to be removed, this is located beneath oil filter housing. Remove lower engine shield then locate oil cooler which is above cross member, be aware, this item, which is similar to the upper cap of oil filter, is not easy to remove due to restricted access, once removed about 300cc of dirty oil can be emptied, this job is not for the faint hearted so approach with caution and obtain advice.
thank you very much for your video, was very helpful
The good old way with draining out the pan seemed better to me. I suspect that this way you will not get out all the impurities that gather down there in the pan.
I use the Pella 6000 for my Jetta TDI … the Pella can be found at any Boating Supply Store (boaters use them to extract motor oil because there is no drain plug on most inboard motors in boats) I paid $40.00 bucks for mine … paid for it’self after two oil changes ..
Helpful
What a mess. VW had BP design the lubrication system.
Why do we have to hit 36k miles to see a 2012 Passat TDI oil change video?
Then let me see your car….
Plus, the first 3 oil changes are included in the US. I haven’t heard of anyone with more than 36k miles yet.
Very cool. How come there are no videos for the 2012 Passat TDI?
can I use the extractor without the compressed air? And just pump it out by hand?
Great video thanks
is this the same for a audi a6 2 litre diesel thanks
yes there is a mnaual version called something like a palela 6000
How much is that oil extractor and who is the producer? Is there a manual version? THX
Hi,
Nice video. Can you comment on any advantages/disadvantages on the two methods of removing the oil.
Also, could you recommend a video or book for changing the oil in a 2012 A3TDI? I have not been able to locate a shop manual for the 2012 A3 TDI.
Thank you
was this a 2.0 or 1.9 tdi
