FixitSam says:

Was about €60 for this one and the bolts. Its all labour, and often the
head has to be skimmed.

is there much difference for a turbo diesel 1.9L? and should the head get
resurfaced when changing the head gasket on a diesel?

Stuart Lakin says:

dont you mean unbolt the head from outer to inner then tighten from inner
to outer??

BeeJeeReview says:

You only need to get it resurfaced if the head is warped

FixitSam says:

hello, imagine that you forget to mark your dieselpump! how can you find the
right position for your dieselpump?

Marcin Wojciechowski says:

OMG – do you know that you could damage this head when unbolting it from
inner to outside – ALWAYS tight bols on cylinder head from the outside to
inside and untight them in reverse – so from outside to inside

caduceus33 says:

Wow, you did that quickly! I bet you’ve done that a time or two! I notice
you are saving money on nitrile gloves, but you’ll lose what you saved when
you buy the hand cleaner.

this is Polo 1.9 SDI Mine is from 1998 and yesterday the belt came of,
pulley was wobbling like mad(the big one in the middle) I saw the belt
hanging down underneath, took it to mechanic, he said that pulley was
loose, threw that belt of, so he needs to replace that and the water pump,
and it’s gonna cost 235 Pounds man – is he ripping me of man???

MrShriepshroepshrap says:

but imagine that you dieselpump is bad end you must have a new one . you go
to a shop end buy one..than you installed it but the pump must be “on time”
how do you do that.you understand what i am saying? i just wanna say if you
buy a new one you can not just replace it..it must set on time.greetz

MrShriepshroepshrap says:

like if cilinder when is almost above than then the injector must shoot
diesel in the cilinder at that time cilinder 4 on your vw polo is making a
intake stroke end dont need diesel. i have a a ford focus with a dieselpomp
wat is bad.we wont to buy one from a carbreakdown end replace it but the
new dieselpump is not in the engine anymore end i dont know how to set it
on time.gr

tony Pettersen says:

theres two holes behind the cogwheel, put a rod that fits through the hole
in the wheel and then into one of the holes in the back.. only a vag
product would have two options and one beeing right.. man i have never
hated an car more than my diesel polo

Marcin Wojciechowski says:

Yes, of course – I had what you said in mind πŸ˜‰ Thanks for pointing this
out πŸ™‚ Of course – unbolt from outside to inside and tighten from inside to
outside – and do it in cross pattern.

trollaphobic says:

Thanks. I just ordered one from amazon about 5 min ago. πŸ™‚
