If you went as far as to remove the shift box to change that bushing you
should have replaced all of them as well as buying or borrowing the
adjuster lock out plate to do the adjustment. Replacing the shift lever
itself isn’t a bad idea either since the bottom wears out too. Two good
tips: before you re install the shift lever into the box fill its bore with
grease. Then use silicone paste on all the other bushings. It feels super
slick after.
My98 jetta . All gears. Work but Revers pops out when in gear. It goes back
for like 5 sec then pops out and grinds . any idea what it is?
This is funny im having the same issue with my mk2 gti. When i put it in
reverse its acually 1st gear!! And i cant find reverse at all!!! Not sure
if my linkage has moved on its own or what!
The “one up front” aka the relay bracket bushing, is the one I need to
install. Does this same process have to be done?

bushing without breaking it jaja, Im doing the same with my mk2.
Very good video but the part is wrong, you need to replace the big black
bushing with the orange bushing into it, the alone orange bushing goes on
the other end of the bar. what I want to see is how to take out the exhaust
tube and how to place it again for an A2.
