Life saver! Thanks for that tutorial. I know it’s hard getting in there with the camera and all, but this was exactly the fix I needed to help me get the fuel door opened. I was running low on gas as well!
Great tutorial for unlock fuel flap. Yesterday my audi also had the problem, this morning it can open.
It worked great. Use long string then trim at end of job.

Thank you so much for posting this video, you saved my … today!. It took me 45 mins trying to open that lid by reading the manual, and only 3 minutes watching your video. I am so dissapointed with the vw I bought just a month ago. Yeah, it is a diesel but I hesitate it really worths the HIGH maintanance whereas there are a whole bunch of more reliable Hondas and Toyotas with cheap maintainance. I should have searched up more. Thanks so much again!
Frustrating problem, nothing like pulling up to the gas station and not even being able to open that stupid door! Great info to fix it once and for all since apparently the drivers side door wiring was done by a spaz, THANKS!!
