No problem 🙂 Are you using a relay??? The circuit for the siren does require to be powered up at all times and the relay releases that power so it works for when you lock the doors. 2 wires need to be attached to ground & the other 2 to power from the siren. The 2 which are connect to the power supply (both tilt sensor and 12v constant) need to be attached at all times. Then the brown wire connects directly to ground and the other gm signal wire is used for switching and is a controlled ground.

Thanks for the reply! I meant that I did the bmw siren mod and the alarm sounds as yours does but when I lock the car it makes no noise. But with mine I connected the red wire from the siren to the positive side the other three to the ground plug and it everything works besides when I lock the car the wolf whistle doesn’t make noise when it is locked only on panic. I hope you understand I’m awful at explaining things haha. Thanks again!

My VW had 2 different types of horns. The standard horns which was controlled by pressing the wheel and used for the panic button found at the front of the vehicle by the rad support and an extra motorcycle style horn underneath the windshield wiper cowl. I’m sure Audi has the same setup. It seems to be a common problem for VW having these horns get quieter over time and even quit. So most likely the horn itself has quit working. Now you can remove it and do a bench test just to be certain.

Hi I hope u can help with this issue. I did this to my 2000 Audi a4 and it works on panic but there is no sound when I lock my car. Thanks!

I’ve just bought a keyless entry system off line and am a bit confused with how to fit it! can you do a step by step guide? thank you!

4Diyers says:

You mean as in connect into that same power supply on the top of the battery, yes you can. You can replay the power wires for the lights and for an easier install. I actually did this on my BMW with halo lights. For the replay, make the ground wire the switching wire, so you only have to run one wire into the cabin, just connect to the ground post under the dash if you have a mk4 and you’re done.

ive a right hand drive golf could you wire fog lights switch into the dash the same way?

PTCary says:

I’m lost, can you please post what each of the 4 pins are on the BMW siren?

4Diyers says:

30 Needs to be connected to ground and 87 to you’re GM Signal. You also need to have a constant ground connected to the siren too in the ground pin.

MKfour Jetta says:

I followed this mod and didn’t get it to work. I used a #53 relay with the RoadRunner horn. Let me know if this configuration is the way it is supposed to work.
According to this diagram. I need to do the following pin connections:
Tie pin 2 and 3 of the RoadRunner horn to constant 12v with the relay connections below

Relay Horn (RoadRunner)
87 4
30 1

Relay Horn (Factory)
86 Positive
85 Negative

to fuckin complicated!…NEXT

Alec Terk says:

Per 4DIYers, the pin layout on the relay should be the following:

86 – switching power
85 – ground
30 – ground
87 – gm signal

This helped me and will hopefully help others. Thanks again!

Thank you for the comment!
On the panic button, the siren works exactly like the stock VW alarm horn. So it switches on/off continuously. It’s significantly louder than the lock sound.
The relay is just a regular 12v relay that is the same used if your wiring in aftermarket off road lights on a vehicle.

Alec Terk says:

Awesome upgrade, thank you! Two questions – does the panic alarm stay on continuously like on the BMWs? Also, what size relay is needed?

redneckbryon says:

What’s the box on the top of the battery?
With the 4-5 red wired and 1 black wire?
