all !
Got a video? Would love to see a demo.
grind away the paint and weld it with mig/mag or acyteleen
where?
bad welding !
What type of welder would you advise to purchase for this type of work?
I’m replacing the heater channels on a ’74 super beetle. I bought the front
wheelwells, rear part for both sides. The problem I’m having is that there
are still a couple of holes left over from the wheelwells and the sides of
the front firewall. I homebrewed the areas in front of the heater channels
where the body bolts through from the chassis in through the heater channel
and into the front firewall, but still I can’t figure out if there is
something I’m missing. Have any ideas? TNX for VIDS
Chris i wanted to know other motors for a beetle my friends said put a
porsh motor in it but i dont want to change all the stuff all i want is a
bit more power and speed Big fan -Taylor
Love your videos! Seen you on TheSamba too. I have a 57 and post there. I
noticed one thing… No welding mask?
I would have to see some pics of the areas you are talking about
Wow nice job on that Beetle!!! p.s. I think that is better to use on your
projects… (Flux-cored arc welding) with “mig welding machine” , than
oldfashioned SMAW (Shielded metal arc welding) with Electrode. Becouse
Flux-cored arc welding is more Friendly to the metal panels!!! … Anyhow
keep going,thumb up from me!
Yeah Ian, that is the key, you need those doors to close right. Sometimes
if you have that problem, place a floor jack under the heat channel to
raise it up into place.
Check any VW parts supplier, almost all of them off turn-key (Fully
equipped and ready to go) engines that are huge performance upgrades from
the original.
Thumbs up Thanks
Hey man thanks! Oh I know no mask, that lil guy is nuts with that.
All starters need solenoids, they come attached to the starters.
Fascinating Chris thank you. You answered two questions I had on this; (1)
The heater channel windscreen (windshield) feed and (2) the door fit. Most
concerning for me is the latter in trying to get that “factory feel” to
door closing, or at least to a level of accuracy that allows subsequent and
meaningful adjustments to the door at the final stage of re-assembly. I
like the use of the “accordion” tubes – must make a vast improvement at
directing heat. Regards Ian, Birmingham, England
Another quick question Chris, why do you have install a 6 volt soleoind on
my 64 bug to get the starter to work, it’s not stock but tht finally fixed
my starting problem, what the factory fix for this problem thks Scott.
wow! stick welder!! I was doing it this way 30 years ago, thank god for mig
welders!!!
nice video. I also like the beeps on the outro lol
