Mike Fn Garage says:

Looks like those corners are slightly different but I think you can make it work. just put the rubber on the glass and fit them once you spot weld them maybe take the window and put it in the newer body and check the corners before you remove them to make sure it will work. The top edge just rrim it back a little then weld in a small piece of flat metal. it will work will be hard to grind in the corner but you can do it.

I never had the money says:

Looks like a 1973 if rear fender correct….. rear window got bigger in 1972 by an inch and will not fit your 1965 ….

Andrew Chadwick says:

Surely it would have been easier to just turn up wirh a reciprocating saw and grinder and cut out the section you want?

John Wilkinson says:

You didn't know those were bumper brackets and the car is a 1973 or newer?

Anthonybrooks says:

Scrap it get a real classic these are the ugliest cars that never should have been in USA in the first place it's a death trap those and the hippy buses they catch fire I seen it ugly death traps but American classics they want to scrap really !?

Julian Roberts says:

Hello mate. It's so great to see you cracking on with the '65. I'm sure you know by now this bug is a '73 or thereabouts. As such it has a bigger back window than your '65, and you might find it won't fit, in the same way that the one from Mike Fn didn't.
Also, I just fitted discs to the front of my '62, so I know that they add around an inch to each side of the track. To avoid the front wheels sticking out an inch at each side I had to get a 2 inch narrowed front beam. I used the kit from CB Performance but I'm pretty sure they all make the wheels stick out to some degree. You've worked so hard on the stock brakes and beam, I'd be tempted to stay stock, if it were me. Can you really bare to take off that beam you worked so hard on, and not even use it?
Whatever you do – Good luck man, keep at it. We're getting there!

You must remove the entire grill, I think it would look better and it is possible to paint the inside of the grill.
