My wife has a 2010 VW Golf with a 2.5L 5 Cyl engine. The EPC light recently started coming on almost daily. After a while once the EPC light comes on, it causes the car to go into “Limp Mode” at which time you have to stop, turn off the car and restart.
The cause of the EPC light illumination is often hard to diagnose. We took it to a VW Dealer Service Department. I discuss what happened and how they wanted to charge $ ten times what we ended up paying to fix the car.
