Thanks bro, I don’t think we have this store here in Canada. I will look it
up. I found a used one for $100….
thanks! It was a very easy job,and fun too 🙂
Howd you take the teal volt off?
hi there, where did you buy this from? I mean painted? my golf is silver
but I only can find the black ones. Thanks
Good job.
@MoreGameThenEA You need to use a star screw,i forgot the actually name of
it but i just call it the star screw
also, where is you door panel removal video? I see others, but I like your
work …
I bought mine online from Rock Auto – and got a can of Black spray paint
from the local NAPA shop.
@integraz32lover yeah im just stumped on this screw its put on tight do you
think so WD-40 will work?
very nice job … I like that you walk it through with minor misses, but
explain how to fix that. the “clip part” had me a little confused. also,
MOST importantly, I plan to buy the mirror from a local auto salvage. as we
know, VW made 2 Jetta models in 2005. mine is the first. it isn’t power,
but has “defrost”. no puddle lamp like the newer 2005. would a 2004 be the
same as what I need?
No prob,im not sure if its in Canada or not
@MoreGameThenEA The driver side should be the same, buy that star screw i
used in this video and you should be good to go,and mine wasnt put on that
tight, just one little grunt and it broke loose, overall this is a very easy
job
Where did you purchase the star screw? I went to a volkswagen dealer and
they didnt have it and couldnt tell me where i could buy one
put some wd-40 on it and it came off 🙂 !! Thanks a lot broo.. Great vid!
@MoreGameThenEA Cool man.No problem broskey!!Glad i helped out!
Thanks guy. Totally helpful.
i made a phillips head fit in there turned with all of my strength left and
it wouldnt come out…. the grip is good and all, mine is on the drivers
side does it make a difference?
some plonker hit my golf 4’s driver side mirror where the controls doesn’t
make it go left and right it only goes up and down
I got this mirror from a nationwide salvage branch called LKQ.They are a
great source for finding OEM parts. They also have alot of aftermarket
parts. But when i went there to get this mirror, they just happened to have
one in silver. It was only $75,so i got a great deal
@MoreGameThenEA Its weird because mine wasnt that tight, and this is the
stock mirror. But try WD-40 or any other spray lubricant and give it a bit
of elbow grease, and you should be free.Btw i didnt use any lubricant at all
while replacing it,its pretty much straight forward, but try the wd-40 and
see if that works,if not,get a longer ratchet for more torque
I just had a big set of them
