Mine was deemed necessary to replace today. Excited and would love feedback on what I should replace during the job a they will be ordering parts. Ball joints? Leaf springs? Struts? Or just let the mechanic have a budget… I am getting a whole new frame for free…. And don't want junk to be reinstated. My taco is a 09

ramzey ramstein says:

How much it cost to replace chasis Toyota Tacoma 2008

Joe Wilson says:

2003 bad rust on frame, also rear differential has rusted through and leaking. Most likely not covered Maryland, no recalls for this truck on the Toyota web page.

Joe Fahrenschon says:

Toyota Canada did the frame campaign last jan they had my truck for two days in that time they cleaned the whole truck and frame checked it for corosion , mine was good so they applied the CRC protection and payed for the rental on a brand new 2019 Tacoma ( my truck is a 2012 tacoma sport double cab with 80000 kms ) nice to see they are being proactive to prevent future problems

Jayr Cooper says:

The question will Toyota replace your frame, falls under i think the fuck not.

Conan The Cimmerian says:

Has anyone in CA. Been able to get a new frame out of this? I have an 08 with a little bit of rust at weld spots- not too bad but the rear bed support "struts" on each side both look like they are about to crumble! This sucks! And my entire hitch and under bumber is rotting..?

Chris Lockard says:

Got a call from local Toyota dealer last fall wanting to inspect my 2012 4 door long bed frame. Waited till now and they said it failed, will replace the frame. Previous owner paid Toyota dealer to apply undercoating years ago, have receipts. They replaced the air pumps on the side of the engine last summer at no charge after they failed causing the dash to light up and making the truck go into a “crawl mode?”. That was around $1200 if I remember correctly. Central KY

Oh It's Just Nick says:

Hello, I'm looking to buy a lightly used Tacoma in Southern California. I don't think I have to worry about the rust issue but buying used has me concerned. Does the rust issue only affect 2011-2017 or has it been known to happen to 2018+? Thanks in advance

Carter Coffin says:

Requiring a 10mm hole to meet recall requirements. What a load of sh*t, your frame is toast way before that point. I didn't meet the requirements and now my trucks frame is slowly getting eaten by rust.

Poverty Spec says:

Should have bought a Frontier. Fully boxed frame.

Scott Bertrand says:

The frame rots from the inside out and you wont know till it's too late. Look close in the rear leaf spring mount area's before and aft. Mine is a 2002 with minimal body rust. Great dependable truck if it weren't for the frame. I took it to Colorado this past fall Elk hunting 9/20/20 with no problems. I live in the Wisconsin salt belt. On 2/03/21 had to have some plates welded to the frame where it cracked on each side behind the front leaf spring mounts. Lucky it didn't break in half before the repair. Hope to buy a new Taco, just gun shy of the frames.

David Worker says:

Just bought a 2007 . Discovered the rusty frame after. Toyota dealer in Hawaii told me recall it's expired, and they wont even give me free inspection. any hope for me anywhere? Mahalo

Susan C says:

Had hubby's 2011 inspected. It was ok. They kept it for a couple of days and did the treatment. I was told they run bruises through the frame to clean it out then inject the product, which he said is a wax based treatment to the inside, heat it up to cure it and done.

Susan C says:

Just picked up my 2009 Tacoma. It is January 10th, dealership has had it since October 15th. Day I had it inspected the gentleman came our, told me it flunked inspection. I said ok, when do you want me to drop it off? He said thry couldn't let me drive it and were putting me in a loaner that day. It had been inspected about a year before at another dealer who said it was fine. The rental cost almost them just under $6000. I would have been happy if they offered me a really good deal on a new one instead! But it is done and seems to be driving fine.

dank jr says:

06 needs a frame. Toyota said you missed the lawsuit claim.

sara heck says:

Nope they won’t.

frank gulla says:

Criteria is a 10mm perforation of the frame, Toyota did my replacement 5 years ago. I did not receive a letter from Toyota even though they know I own the truck! ( I bought it used in 08, it's an 06) someone in a super market parking lot told me about the program, they did a good job swapping every thing out although I did have to tighten the bolt going through drivers side, lower control arm, it would pop at full wheel lock at slow speed. I have been treating it with fluid film every fall and the frame looks great! Gonna keep this truck as long as possible, I don't like the new 3.5 motor.

Tom Dantzig says:

“Trade yours in for a base model for lease”Ahhh the good old bait and switch The dealerships try to pawn on us… I guess it is true to have a bird in the hand than two in the bush sort of speak

Wild Urban Adventures says:

Tacomaholic! I'm so sad right now. I just had my my truck lifted yesterday by a small shop. Went to go throw my beefy BFG KM2s on and found a huge hole in the frame. So disheartening to see. I'll be putting up a vid soon on my channel about it within the next week or so. Ugh…I'm so sad!!!!
