Toyota V6 Engine BLEW UP Early Because of a Small Piece of Hose. Let's Fix It

a Toyota V6 Engine completely blew up because of a failed rubber oil line which is common on the 2GR-FE 3.5L V6 Toyota\Lexus Engine.

This problem with the V6 engine is a common one. The oil cooler line in certain years were made of rubber and can rupture at any moment which is what happened to this highlander and cost it it’s engine at only 144k miles.

This engine is one of the greatest engines Toyota made however the early examples with an oil cooler could suffer an early end because of it.

The owner of this car opted to go with a used engine which we discuss some of the risks associated with it.

Maintained regularly. It now has 145,000 miles. Still gets a combined 21 MPG per tank.

Hello AMD, great video! Does the 2ZR-FE 4 cylinder have a "rubber oil hose" equivalent that should be preemptively changed?

if you have ever been to a salvage yard you would know how much of a gamble a used engine is. between the alcoholic mechanics to the tractort/ransport drug addict driver the engine is not exactly treated with white gloves.
